Description The purpose of this present study was to determine kinematic profile of karate front kick (mae-geri) of two elite traditional karate practioners (6th Dan and 5th Dan), direct students of sensei Nishiyama and determinate major kinematic element influencing contintuity of the kick. Simi motion 3D analysis system was used. Kick was divided into three cardinal phases and subdivided into microphases. Main kinematic patterns were illustrated and comparison was done. The phenomenom of lever effect related to body segment synchronization was observed in initial and acceleration phase. Hip flexion was major contributor to acceleration phase and range of the knee flexion probably influence absolute velocity.
