Description The partial aim of this study was to clarify the relationship between perceived quality of father-child relationship and attitudes toward divorce at young adults from both intact and divorced families. According to the previous research findings, it was supposed that this relationship is different for men and women from divorced families. Research sample included 497 people (315 women) at the age between 20 and 30. The quality of father-child relationship was measured by Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (IPPA), the attitude towards divorce was assessed by The Attitude toward Divorce Scale and by semantic-differential scales. The correlational and regression analyses and t-tests were used to verify the hypotheses. The results suggested that there is a relationship between perceived quality of father-child relationship and attitudes toward divorce in people from intact families and also in women from divorced families. It was not confirmed that there is a significant relationship in men from divorced families.
