Description The main aim of this study was to simulate deposition and erosion of missing units during the Neogene using scenario-testing approach to the heat flow history. Integrated basin modelling using 1D, 2D and 3D was applied in the Vizovické vrchy prospection area. Crystalline basement is built by Brunovistulian crystalline rock. Basement surface is confirmed from several deep boreholes and interpreted from seismic profiles. Thickness of overlaying Paleozoic sequences reaches almost 3 000 m recorded in the Jablunka 1 borehole. Early Miocene shales and sandstones of the Carpathian Foredeep basin and the Silesian and Subsilesian overthrust units cover Paleozoic sediments (Pícha, 2006). Prospection area Vizovické vrchy is less important oil and gas play in the Czech Republic. Accumulations of hydrocarbons can be found predominantly in the in the fractured crystalline basement, limited hydrocarbon occurrences without economic potential were encountered in overlying Miocene/Karpathian rocks as well as in Carpathian Thrust belt.
