Description The present study expands upon the impact evaluation of the active employment labour market policy (ALMP) adopted in the Czech Republic. The study uses administrative data generated by the register of individual Labour Offices (employment agencies) for a specific period (January 2010 to December 2010). This analysis focuses its research on the impact of the ALMP on the unemployed with multiple disadvantages. The outcomes of this study have demonstrated that the combination of certain characteristics of the unemployed (e.g. poor education and advanced age in combination with a medical condition) lead to their rather long-term (often years long) registration with the Labour Office. Due to changes in the research design, this impact evaluation has brought forth more promising outcomes than previous studies. Positive impacts of the 2010 programmes were particularly visible in groups which continuously showed a smaller chance of going away from the Labour Office registers. The ALMP impacts show that the situation of programme participants proved to be obviously worse before joining the programme, as it does if they fail to participate in the programmes at all.
