Description The article deals with the matter of the 6 January Dictatorship, which was introduced in 1929 by Aleksandar Karađorđević in an effort to consolidate the unitary state of south Slaves. The main documents of the 6 January regime are analyzed. These documents introduced the new name of the state, banovinas and a new unitary constitution. The article also deals with the matter of the assassination of Aleksandar, regent council, establishment of the Croatian Banovina and the unseat of the regency in connection with the attempt of the government of Yugoslavia to join the Tripartite Pact.
