Description The objective of the present study is to use the example of two types of migrant-oriented social services to demonstrate potential problems in the interaction of the integration and the social service policies. Research question of the study: What, in the current context of social services in the Czech Republic, prevents the selected social service centres from providing their services to migrants and what, on the contrary, enables them to do so? In principle, there are four possible answers: Proclamation and actual implementation of policies, the system of securing and providing the social services (transfer of performance and responsibility for the service provision to NGO without any significant NGO’s influence on the method of securing the service), uneven distribution of services across ČR, expert misinterpretation of social prevention services as those which should primarily protect the Czech population.
