Description It is clear that the pathophysiological mechanisms of metabolic syndrome (MetSy) are under very strong genetic influence, which significantly contributes to individual differences in phenotypes of MetSy. Despite the complexity and potency of genetic influences is evident of the strong influence of environmental factors, usually defined as part of the lifestyle. A very important role is played by physical activity, the lack of which negatively affects the metabolism of carbohydrates and lipids and is one of the causes of premature atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease and DM2T. The incidence of MetSy and its individual components are high, and still has a growing trend. Early recognition MetSy and rapid reduction of risk factors using optimal interventions can minimize the morbidity and mortality associated with this disease.
