Description Manipulative activities are a natural part of spontaneous activities for children of preschool and early school age. They are also part of school classes , either in the form of educational games or controlled discovery. The lecture contemplates the role of manipulative and game activities in developing mathematical ideas and mathematical knowledge acquisition from the perspective of both students and teachers; it further contemplates the role of pupils and teachers and the diagnostic benefit of these activities. Examples are presented of topics suitable for incorporation into teaching practice in mathematics classes and spare time activities.
