Description The paper deals with universality of human rights. He focuses mostly on an analysis of the attitude of American theoretician Jack Donnelly, which author recognizes as pluralistic. The specific attention is dedicated to questions of the relation between universality and legitimacy and the relation between universalism and relativism. At the end the author examines a potentiality of the pragmatic attitude to universality and human rights.
