Description The Omaha system is the result of the efforts of experts to standardize nursing terminology in order to create a uniform structure for the problem classification, interventions and outcomes in community care. The paper is focused on the review of resource about using the Omaha System in community practice. The aim is to analyze selected sources dealing with the issue of the Omaha System. We performed literature review and content analysis of documents and we selected 17 studies over the past 5 years (2010-2014) for analysis published in the Medline database and on the 11th Conference of the International Congress on Nursing Informatics. Selection criteria for studies were language of studies (English) and the need of IMRaD components - the type of communities, research sample, the objective, methodology and presentation of the specific findings of authors in the field of standardized terminology system in the Omaha System. Results of the analysis will contribute to expanding our knowledge of the implementation of standardized terminology in community practice.
