Description This book presents the phenomenon of webinars, that have been employed more and more frequently - in corporate, formal and informal education. This form is not just a passive way of passing on information, such as the recording of lectures are (although it is one of the possibilities), but it emphasises interactivity and the active role of each individual. It is a way to enhance teaching with an element that increases its attractiveness while cutting the economic costs. This publication shows the technical solutions and tools supporting the realisation of webinars, but for the most part it concentrates on the pedagogical and didactic aspects. The emphasis is put on the question of how to make quality, interesting webinars with appropriate educational content that are helpful and attractive for the students and on the implementation of webinars into the educational process. One of the pedagogical theories dealt with in connection with the development of the internet and online learning is connectivism, which emphasises the creation of knowledge in a network environment, creative individual activity of students and their ability of self-educate themselves to a large extent. Because this branch has lacked well-worked-out didactical methods, we find it useful to deal with them in a great detail here – especially taking into account that webinars are considered a typically connectivist form of education. General concepts of pedagogical character are illustrated by case studies that give this work a character of a research monograph.
