Description Is war always morally wrong or is it a natural tool of international politics? Advocates of just war theory hold a middle position as they claim that under certain conditions there might be a just cause to wage war. Although just war theory is one of the most influential doctrines of ethics of war and peace, it is minimally debated in the Czech discourse. The objective of this paper is, therefore, to present the theory in its historical context and analyse its links with contemporary international relations and international law.
