Description The core of human dignity is human freedom to make decisions about his life. Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine in Article 2 states that the interests and welfare of the human being shall prevail over the sole interest of society or science. The principles of autonomy of the will and welfare of the human being, however, face a strong influence of "public interests". What is the role of human dignity when are fundamental rights in conflict with public interest? Is the human dignity only fundamental right that can be limited or it is a value which sets clear limits to any restrictions of the fundamental rights?
