Description At present time, betablockers (BB) are a heterogeneous class of drugs, with different pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynaraic properties. Betablockers act protectively at almost all stages of cardiovascular damage. Recently, many analysis and information were published which are questioning yet unshakable role of betablockers in some cardiovascular diagnosis. This review summarizes new findings on the use of BB in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction, hypertension, secondary prevention of coronary heart disease, arrhythmias and chronic heart failure.
