Description Dyslexia is very often diagnosed specific learning disorders. Individuals describe a lot of symptoms like: jumping of letters and whole words in the line, uncomfortable glare, and fogging of the text, occasional double vision of letters etc. Study deals of using colour transparent overlays as compensatory aid for dyslectic children. This study included 72 pupils. To the study 36 dyslectic children of twelve years old were put and 36 non-dyslectic children of ten years old as control group. The four tints of overlays were used for study (yellow, pink, blue and green). A green tint of overlay decreased symptoms of dyslexia the most. On the contrary a yellow tint was used at least. Acceleration of reading with colour overlays occurred in almost 75 % of dyslectic children. Overage improvement with colour overlays was in the case of dyslectic children 6 % whereas improvement of non-dyslectic group was 3,7 %. Differences of improvement between both groups are 2,3 %. Study shows positive effect for reading with colour overlays at dyslectic and non-dyslectic children.
