Vladimír Šmilauer – život a dílo filologa (1895–1983)“, published by Academia publishing house in 2015. The review honours the monograph for its complex contents and extent, bringing a missing portrait of a significant linguist, providing also a view of Czech 20th century linguistic thinking. The author’s qualified insight into Šmilauer’s pedagogical and didactic activities, seen through the lens of today’s knowledge and needs of education, is also viewed positively.
