| Description | ‘Decameron' compilation was not only source of inspiration for writers but was inspiration for artists from different areas. We can find authors who set some of the songs from the compilation to music and painters inspired by this work as well. Taking into the consideration that novellas generally record society habits from the time when they were written therefore in my contribution I apply my mind into reference of music and painting which we can find in ‘Decameron' compilation. Some items from music area we can find in the frame of compilation. As far as painting concerns, in few novellas appears Buffalmacco and his friends Bruno and Calandrino who were painters in the given period. In my contribution I mentioned as well xylographs contained in publication ‘Decameron' compilation, a cura di Mario Marti, Rizzoli, Milano, 2000, which were adopted from the edition published in Venice in the year 1492. |
