Description The postmodern turn in jurisprudence focuses attention on new looks at law. One of the important approaches is the understanding of law as communication. Practices of public relations strive to create good public relations through means of communication. Procedures and practices of public relations in the United States in the last decades of the 20th century moved from the political and business sectors as well as in the legal field. Litigation public relations use communication to influence publics, public opinion and courts by managing the communications process during the course of legal disputes or adjudicatory proceeding so as to affect the outcome. The text also focuses on the need to enhance public relations in the field of mediation which is as an alternative dispute resolution based on communication, and on the necessity of introducing a nationwide promotion of mediation, because mediation is - contrary to the expectations - used only marginally. In this area can be very inspiring for us media coverage of mediation in Poland, where the Justice Department has successfully structured a nationwide campaign aimed at the general public, at the parties of dispute, and at all potential components that are involved in resolving of the dispute.
