Description In this work is the main theme of comparing heavy minerals of the Žerotice member of the Carpathian Foredeep within the wells series Zn and the overlying Ottnangian and Eggenburgian deposits. Attention was mainly paid to determining the source area and the developments in relation to the development of depositional basin. The minerals was separated from grain size fraction 0,063-0,125 mm. Chemistry of selected minerals (garnet, rutile) was evaluated by electron probe microanalyzer Cameca SX 100. The groups pyrope-almandine and grossulare-almandine are the most abundant. Rutiles probably originates from metamorphic rocks concretly metapelitic rocks, but from magmatic rocks too, concretly from pegmatites.
