| Description | In western palearctic is Pelophylax genus composed from 13 species. Five of these species can be found in Balkans. Distribution of these species in Balkans is uncertain. In years 2013-2016 we collected and sequenced 77 Pelophylax specimens from 37 localities across 4 Balkan countries. Phylogenetic analyses devided all collected specimens into 4 lineages, representing species P. ridibundus, P. epeiroticus, P. shqipericus and P. bedriagae. The highest haplotype diversity was detected in representatives of P. ridibundus. |
