Description The article presents a self-presentation of an academic library on the social network Facebook. It focuses particularly on practical recommendations – how to advertise, what language to choose and what content to post mainly. All recommendations are completed by photographs of each post and explanation why it is appropriate to present it in this way. A large part of the article refers good practice of The Central Library of the Faculty of Social Studies Masaryk University. The authors present their first experience with Facebook – they are focusing on the beginner’s mistakes and explain specifically what does and does not work. The aim of the article is to introduce a four-year presence of an academic library on Facebook and to emphasize the benefits this type of online marketing can bring.
