| Description | Building on research conducted within the COMPOSITE project which compared police organizations in the European Union with regard to police identity and identification of officers with their profession, we carried out new research examining police officers in the Czech Republic (n=271). A key objective of our research was to describe basic characteristics of professional identity of police officers in the Czech Republic with particular emphasis on how the law enforcement officers identify with their profession, which qualities, skills and abilities they consider crucial to their profession, and which tasks they consider essential. The results of our research showed the current trends in building a professional identity of Czech police officers compared to the results from 10 European countries. |
