Description In April 2009, the European Parliament accepted one of the most crucial legislative proposals for the insurance industry in the European Union – the Solvency II Directive regarding regulation and supervising of insurance and reinsurance activities. Solvency II is a new concept regulating European commercial insurance companies that will substitute current legislation Solvency I. Solvency II Directive is based on regulation considering capital requirement quantification, internal control and risk management rules and information systems or increased requirements on market discipline. The legislation regime Solvency II changes the approach of supervisory authorities, which will focuse more actively on risk management of particular insurance/reinsurance companies. Presented scientific paper is focused on an analysis of a specific structure of the second pillar of the new approach Solvency II. In the paper, partial results achieved in the frame of research program MSM 6215648904 are solved, in relation to goals and methodology of the given research aim.
