| Description | In this paper, the author focused on central bank digital currencies, which are being discussed at all kinds of official levels, in the last few years. He outlined the existing types of money to show how they would be complemented by central bank digital currencies. Some of the main central banks’ approaches to central bank digital currencies are outlined as well. Finally, the author considered some of the possible effects that these currencies would have on monetary policy. |
