| Description | Genetically modified (GM) crops have been grown since 1992 on an ever-increasing area. However, an increasing number of states (mainly in Europe) has been banning their cultivation. The amount of information about the (potential) benefits and risks of GM crops has been growing, along the chasm of their advocates and opposers.
