Description This article is a commentary on the European Court for Human Right's judgment of 27. 2. 2018, case Sinkova v. Ukraine, complaint no. 39496/11. This case's primary question is the conduct of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies as well as criminal justice against an activist who fried eggs on so-called "eternal flame" which is a part of a tomb of an Unknown Soldier in alleged protest against its costly maintenance in contrast to the allegedly insufficient care the Ukrainian state provides to the war veterans. It expounds its factual and legal dimension and provides the reader with further information on the core questions and their European context.
