Description Extensive monitoring of The Red Flat Bark Beetle (Cucujus cinnaberinus) was carried out in the period from 6 Oct to 16 Nov 2018 (during a total of 14 excursions) on the territory of 9-10 faunistic grid squares covering the area of interest. Overall, the review was carried out at 191 pieces of wood (usually lying dead trunks with a bark) at a total of 14 localities mostly representing the habitat of the so-called soft alluvial forest. The larvae (or skins, beetles or beetles torsos) were found under the bark of a total of 39 positive pieces of wood (20.4%) at a total of 10 positive localities (71.4%) regularly distributed to the above mentioned 9-10 squares.
