Description This paper analyses teaching and learning strategies that are applied in sports management studies in order to equip students with a strong perception of organizational performance in a sports context. Using the case study method, the aim is to suggest an educational model that would develop and strengthen the skills to allow students to assess and measure performance of sports organizations effectively The model is conceptualized on the basis of the analysis of students’ assignments using the Atlas .ti software with the purpose of identifying their perception of organizational performance concepts in sport after the completion of the core subjects of sport management studies. In the light of these findings, the reflection in terms of current educational models and subjects and their teaching and learning methods was also conducted. Upon the findings, the author proposes the inevitable changes that should focus on the classification of different managerial situations and cases in a variety of sports organizations (public, professional, non-profit) where the organizational performance measurement is of the utmost importance for their survival and further development.
