| Description | The chapter focuses on the existence of two different terminologies that evolved in the course of time in order to work with and describe medieval and early modern diplomatic material. The author offers a systematic approach, connecting both parts of diplomatics and he regards it as a single scholarly discipline whose object, aim, methods of inquiry and procedures are the same, regardless of the possible differences in examining medieval, early modern or modern material. The proposed solution aims at an elimination of terminological misunderstandings. |
