| Description | The textbook provides a summary of essentials of special neurology to the extent appropriate for the bachelor´s degree programme students of nursing and midwifery. The text provides basic information about the most frequent neurological disorders of childhood and adult age. The emphasis is put on the clinical presentation of particular diseases which facilitates their correct identification by the nursing personnel in the appropriate clinical situation. Possible nursing problems and the most suitable approaches to their management in relevant cases are also discussed. The diagnostic methods and treatment strategies of most frequent neurological diseases are briefly mentioned. The textbook was created by the team of authors from Masaryk University and both the university hospitals in Brno. Basic text is intended for all the bachelor´s students, while the extending data for midwives are presented in separate boxes. At the end of each chapter, a brief summary of the topic is mentioned. |
