| Description | The main goal of the study is to show the limits of strictly historiographical approaches using the example of the analysis of Sigismund´s pledge charters. First, the author characterizes sources for study of Sigismund´s pledge charters for the Czech recipients. On three probes he demonstrates the importance of studying the process of their origin, seal as well as form. Using the method of diplomatic analysis followed by historical contextualization allows to better understand Sigismund´s pledge policy. |
