Description Due to the increasing availability and literacy of the population in the area of computer technology, especially the ever-increasing influence of the Internet, the article focuses on the problematic area of criminal protection of copyright on this network. The analysis focuses on both client-server networking and P2P networking. In the article, the author considers the possibilities of exploitation of the individual circumstances that exclude illegality in the virtual world in connection with the above-mentioned protection. Emphasis being placed on the extreme duress and the necessary defense. The aim of the article is therefore to answer the question whether it is possible to use circumstances that exclude illegality on the Internet and, if so, to what extent.
