Description The paper presents the results of the qualitative analysis of 91 children's retellings of the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale. The exemplar narrative of Red Riding Hood was divided into 32 sequences. The occurrence of these sequences was subsequently followed up in individual stories. Frequency analysis of the sequences of the narrative revealed that ten concrete sequences form the basic storyline. In addition, the frequency of the use of all 32 sequences was divided into three groups and between them there were hiatuses. This frequency distribution probably corresponds to the degree of salience of the individual sequences.
