Description To leave the environment of arms and violence and to become a member of civil society again is not a simple task for the majority of children disengaged from illegal armed groups. In Colombia, the children who enter the specialized programme for disengaged minors usually abandon the rural regions were they grew up and often also a way of life that gave them certain sense of power, independence and adulthood. During the reintegration process some youths focus on reaching their dreams from the very beginning. Others seem to be more resistant to the process and do not manage to adapt to a new life so well. Various factors may affect these reintegration process outcomes.
