| Description | In the four decades preceding 1989, there was an abundance of translations of Russian literature into Czech. However, the tide turned in the final decade of the 20th century and the situation was reversed. Unfortunately, very little is known about what followed after the turn of the century and research on the topic has been scarce. The lecture will attempt to answer the following questions: Which titles from contemporary Russian literature have recently been translated into Czech? Who are the authors? What does contemporary Russian literature say about present-day Russia? And is it even worth reading contemporary Russian literature at all? |
