Description In the last decade, there has been much evidence of the benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) in many areas of medicine. The significance of using HBO in modern medicine lies in improving the functional results, it reduces morbidity and mortality. It also mitigates the neurological consequences of many pathological conditions, especially traumatic and infectious etiology, with the current cost-effectiveness of the funds spent. The part of this research study is an overview of the selected indications in orthopedics and traumatology for the treatment of hyperbaric oxygen, particularly in acute traumatic ischemia, femoral head necrosis and complex regional pain syndrome.
