Description This presentation aimed to familiarize the audience with the population growth humankind has experienced since the dawn of its existence and show the official United Nations projections to 2100. The presentation explicitly mentions sub-Saharan Africa, where the population growth is (and further will be) most dramatic. Two groups of solutions are mentioned - restrictive and supportive, where the author supports the latter, namely full availability of family planning methods and services. Further, the presentation showed that the fight against human overpopulation overlaps with gynecological problems of nowadays (unintended pregnancies, unsafe abortions, sexually transmitted infections, etc.). Finally, the presentation stated that gynecologists and their organizations should take a fight again human overpopulation as their primary task for this century (instead of other challenges).
