| Description | This chapter summarizes clinical manifestation and diagnostics of back pain. The etiology, classification and symptoms are described for particular sections of the spine (the cervical, the thoracic, and the lumbar spine). The major attention is devoted to diagnostics, especially history, clinical examination and electrophysiological examination. The system of red and yellow flags is specified. The diagnostic-therapeutic algorithm for acute back pain is included. The chapter is written with respect to using in a common clinical practice and is recommended especially to general practitioners, pain specialists, neurologists, orthopaedists and neurosurgeons. |
