Description This contribution focuses on negative and positive aspects of recreational usage of landscape in connection with affecting endangered wet meadows plants and their habitats. Nowadays, wet meadows together with populations of endangered plant species have been continuously degrading and disappearing due to an inappropriate management. The cause of this fact is the inability of most of the endangered species to compete with tall grasses, tall herbs, shrubs, and trees due to the natural succession processes. In the region of Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, we found both, positive and negative influences of recreational activities on wet meadows. Based on our own observations as well as documentations in floristic databases and other relevant materials we can summarize that endangered species of mowed wet meadows can grow in slightly disturbed vicinity of recreational objects, e.g. in the gardens close to cottages, paths and on the verges of roads. Whereas illegal dumping, constructions disrupting original hydrology or wastewater discharge were found as negative influences. © 2020 Public Recreation and Landscape Protection - With Sense Hand in Hand?
