Description The present contribution has three objectives. First, the position (1) that science should be defined as a joint activity of several persons that necessarily allows for reasonable criticism will be defended. In the contribution, I will present and defend a minimal criterion to demarcation, a claim to what, at least, everything that should be science must satisfy. Subsequently, immunization strategies (2) will be identified and described, the use of which points to a failure to meet the minimum criterion presented. But these strategies are not only problematic for science. Immunization strategies also play an important role in popular science or public debate in general. This role, along with the debate on their persuasiveness (3), will be illustrated in current discussions on the COVID-19 pandemic, such as the Plandemic film (Willis, 2020).
