| Description | This paper deals with the institute of parole in the context of the issue of rehabilitation of a convict in the sense of its criminological and penological, respectively penitentiary concept. It focuses only on adult offenders. The central idea of this paper is to connect the analysed institute with a consideration of the rehabilitation aim of punishment, as well as with the issues of stigmatization and the possibility of resocialization of the convict. Therefore, it emphasises the criterion of leading a proper life after the parole and on the related criterion of correction of the convict. Relevant ideas from the field of penitentiary psychology do not escape attention either, especially the selected psychological aspects of the convict’s rehabilitation, which play an important role in the process of his correction. This text is intended to serve, among other things, as a critical analysis of the current legislation and a brief comparison with the previous legislation, which is why de lege ferenda considerations are reflected throughout the text. This paper does not forget to reflect recent amendments. |
