Description The book represents the second part of a two-volume monograph focused on the documentation, analysis and interpretation of 9th- to mid-16th-century swords from the territory of the Czech Republic, and on their evaluation in the context of contemporary European swords. This volume deals in detail with the typological and technological development of swords from Czech territory, even in relation to finds from other European regions. Also studied was the development of the symbolic perception of swords by the then society, which went through a relatively complex development and which was affected mainly by the introduction of mechanized production of individual sword components, thanks to which swords became as early as the 14th century generally available products.
