Description The presentation discusses barriers in accessing contraception. It comments on the latest date on contraception published in the Contraception Policy Atlas Europe 2022 and states that financial and economic barriers may not be the most important reasons for not using contraception. More relevant may be a spreading hormonophoby (fear that contraception is unhealthy or dangerous). The presentation tries to uncover the background of these fears and discusses their potential links to ultra-conservative groups on one side and the 'green' groups on the other. It concludes that modern contraception is not unhealthy, dangerous (if prescribed responsibly) or even environmentally damaging.
