| Description | Word-formation analysis software tool for teaching Czech for foreigners (SLAN) is a project whose aim is to create a didactic tool for foreign students and their lecturers. All data from the software are based on a research carried out in specialized corpora created from A2, B1 and B2 textbooks of Czech for foreigners that were compiled for these purpose. The SLAN project intends to process Czech and Russian word formation for the needs of teaching Czech as a foreign language. The current research focused on derivative words that denote names of individuals, and it was found out that in all three language levels, domestic individual names are formed with the use of the -tel suffix (such as učitel, for example), -ec (e.g. cizinec) and -ík/-ník (for example pracovník). Results presented in this way could be used by lecturers and others as a base for their teaching materials. |
