Description | Power plant constructions changed the landscape from the 1870s onwards. Motor-Columbus AG (NOK, which was later nationalised) was the first "integrated power plant" in Switzerland to build a power station in the Klöntal valley in Glarus. The Glarus state archives contain the handwritten notes of the official construction supervisor Walther Hug, which provide detailed information about the problems encountered, technical solutions and everyday life during construction. |
