Description Recent technical advances, coupled with the need to provide remote care to patients during the covid-19 pandemic, have led to rapid adaptation to the use of digital technology in clinical practice. In this document, the term digital heart rhythm monitoring devices includes a range of new devices and other aids such as miniature disposable recorders, various 'wearables' as a new class of electronics, and handheld devices that have been approved by regulatory authorities for use in the medical field. Active implantable electronic devices in cardiology, "life vests" serving as personal defibrillators (LifeVests), Holter monitors are outside the scope of this document. While many people are aware of and perceive the potential benefits of digital data processing and transmission, recent surveys demonstrate a disparity in the care provided, with health professionals fearing a flood of data and unsolicited records from digital devices they do not know how to handle safely. The aim of this document is to provide up-to-date practical guidance on the use of digital devices for arrhythmias, from early detection to the care of individuals with heart rhythm disorders using the consensus categories shown above. At least 80% co-author consensus was required for inclusion of each consensus statement.
