| Description | The research deals with the needs of substance users in the custodial sentence and in pre-trial detention. The aim of the project is to map these needs and their transformation after entering prison alongside with changes in the user's experience of their SUD (substance use disorder). The research uses a mixed-methods design with in-depth semi-structured interviews followed by a questionnaire survey. Methods are based on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and the diagnostic criteria for SUD according to The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. |
