Description | The contribution presented that the romance of Kallimachos and Chrysorrhoe, although using tense-switching either as a deeply rooted convention or because of complying with meter and rhythm, it also uses the HP, a principally oral technique, intentionally, in combination with the so-called exegetic AP in narratorial commentary. Based on this, a presentational manner of the narrator who “projects himself into the past, relating the events as if they were taking place as he writes,” rather than that of the “chronicler of past events” has been observed. |
