| Description | Vegetation has been connected to the city of Brno since its origin. And the vegetation as the city itself has been changing during centuries in connection to different influences and needs of the citizens as well as the city itself. Today the vegetation, mainly parks, make the integral and essential part of the city organism. This short paper will be focused on changes of vegetation area and form in the city of Brno since the first half of the 19th century until the first half of the 20th century. According to the chosen cartographic sources and range of the city, the attempt to do quantification and categorization extend of the vegetation will be made. The goal of the paper is not to put exhaustive or thorough list of historical facts to the individual types of vegetation; however, it should be the first spatial and time analysis. |
