Description A discovery has been made in Moravia that has the potential to rewrite history. Archaeologists have found a small bone from the period around 600 AD on which runes are engraved. So, despite our famous national legend of Cyril and Methodius coming to educate the illiterate pagans, it seems that the Slavs had encountered writing centuries before the arrival of the oracles. How did the runic alphabet come to our territory? How did writing spread across civilizations in the first place? And why do people need them in the first place?
